Local Delivery Driver
Logistics & TransportationYou're the entry point into the trucking world — driving a box truck or straight truck on local routes, home every night, and learning the ropes before the big rigs call your name. The loads are smaller, the routes are shorter, and you don't need a CDL-A yet. You'll memorize every loading dock, every one-way street, and every warehouse with the impossible-to-find entrance. It's physical, repetitive, and the perfect stepping stone to an OTR career — if you decide you actually want to live in a truck.

What you'll actually do
- 01Load and unload the truck yourself because the dock workers are 'on break' again
- 02Navigate city streets in a box truck that was clearly designed for highways, not parking garages
- 03Hit 15-20 stops per day and somehow make every delivery window
- 04Complete pre-trip inspections at 5 AM while your coffee is still too hot to drink
- 05Deal with loading docks that require a PhD in spatial geometry to back into
- 06Keep delivery logs and get electronic signatures from people who can't be bothered
