What you'll actually do
- 01Run the business — payroll, rent, insurance, supplies — while also grooming dogs yourself
- 02Hire and train groomers who share your standards and won't quit after their first aggressive husky
- 03Manage online reviews and social media because your before-and-after photos ARE your marketing
- 04Handle the client who's furious about the haircut and the client who's crying because their dog looks so good — sometimes it's the same person
- 05Maintain equipment, fix plumbing, and clean drains clogged with enough fur to stuff a mattress
- 06Set pricing that covers your costs without scaring away clients — the eternal grooming math problem
